HUGO

Meet Hugo Ivanove Mpenzi , a 24 year old gifted, bilingual producer and videographer who is making himself known in the musical production world.

Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Hugo is now in Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi. In 2003, he made Malawi his second Home. “After finding myself in this life condition, with nothing with me that could help me to survive, my talent was my only weapon that could help me and my 3 brothers.”

Hugo opened the called HP Multimedia in 2014 after realizing the gap that was in the camp that people could travel from Dzaleka to Lilongwe looking for studios. Rooftop Records recently started collaborations with Hugo and the Dzaleka team and look forward to working with the cross cultural talent and sharing musical ideas.
